John (Ioannis) Spanopoulos

"You cannot achieve anything without Passion"

I was born in Athens, 20 May 1993.

Since 2008, I have been actively participating in road and track cycling as a member of the Hellenic National Cycling Team and representing my country in some of the greatest cycling events around the world.

I have been awarded 27 times as a National Champion and I have broken 7 National Records. Some of my major achievements include a Bronze Medal at the World Track Cycling Championships and a 4th place at the European Championships.

Hitherto, I have been elected as an emerging talent from the Hellenic Association of Sports Journalists.

For me cycling, it’s not only about highlighting my skills and talents. It is a passion, which follows me throughout my childhood.

This year, I am racing for Veranclassic-Ago, a professional team based in Belgium. With my team, I will participate in pro cycling races mainly in Belgium and Central Europe.

Regarding my studies, I graduated from high school with a final grade of 19.4/20 (First) and was accepted at the Athens University of Economics and Business, in the Economics Department. I managed to graduate with a grade of 7.64/10 and I got accepted in London School of Economics and Political Sciences to study my master’s degree in Accounting and Finance.
